Who we are:

Working for Children (WFC) is a registered, non-profit charity committed to assisting orphans, poor and vulnerable children in rural communities in Siem Reap Province. It receives no government or NGO assistance, but relies entirely on donations .

It was opened in 2007 as a partnership between retired teachers and villagers. It is staffed by Cambodians working towards a safer and better future for Cambodian children. By supporting this venture you have a real opportunity to help us make a BIG difference to the lives of these children.

Mission:

Meet Rainbow Orphanage Staff

Mr. Pean

Position: Founder/Director

Pean was born in 1977 and on completing his high school education and undergoing Teacher Training taught for (1997- 2005) before (in order to support his family,) he moved into the hospitality industry working in hotels, travel agency. In 2005, with the help of friends, former teachers and villagers he made a commitment to provide a home and education for a small number of orphans and abandoned children in the countryside. In 2007 he registered the Working for Children charity and established the Orphanage on its present site - using a piece of land he had inherited from his family. Thanks to the support of friends and the donations both of individuals and some of his contacts in the Hospitality industry the Orphanage has developed as a permanent, secure and loving home for 34 children aged between 6 and 16. He has surrounded himself with a dedicated team of local people who, on a part time and often voluntary basis, have provided the care and the services needed to give these children a real opportunity in the new Cambodia.

Miss. Pom

Pum was born in 1981 and, after her father’s early death, lived at home and supported her mother and six siblings. Miss.Siek

Position: Handicraft Teacher

Siek was born in 1980 and, like many children growing up during the Khmer Rouge era did not go to school - but tried to advance her skills while working at home with the family.
