The Rainbow orphanage is providing to children of both sexes:
+ Nutrition:
our children eat three meals a day. Breakfast is at 6:30am, lunch is at 11:30am and dinner is at 5:30pm. Recently we offer for each meal, we choose different ingredients such as fish . vegetable, eggs pork and beef in order to offer the balanced and nutrient diet to the children and provide a dessert such as fruits, sugar potatoes and pumpkins… twice per week.
+ Education:
All the children are educated at state schools and provide with extra curricular English instruction Mathematics & Khmer literature at the Orphanage… Mostly our English teachers have limited skills, especially in pronunciation. Because the Orphanage is located away from town the children have little opportunity to practice with international travelers.
+ Health Care and Sanitation:
All children are responsible for themselves. Tooth paste and brushes are often donate, but are in short supply. We need more help. When children fall ill the Orphanage is financially responsible for treatment .
+ Accommodation:
There are three buildings ( Boy’s house, Girl’s house and volunteer’s house for who come to help us. The 70km round-trip from Siem Reap each day is very difficult during the rainy season).
+ About Clothing:
We distribute used clothing. Children starting school receive two or three sets of school uniforms per-year. Mosquito nets and blankets are shared.
+ Training Course:
In order to ensure a better growth to the beneficiaries, the Rainbow Orphanage offer children skilled in Khmer arts and crafts such as carving, basket weaving and building fish traps. These skill have been nearly abandoned in favor of import modern materials.
+ Khmer traditional dance & Music:
Traditional Khmer dance and music course are given to the children in order to teach and remember them the importance of Cambodia traditional and culture which Cambodian was famous .
+ Sewing training skill.
Recently we train our children how to sewing, and in school year 2011-2012 we will sewing the school uniform by ourselve. Now most the girls they could sew and receive order from villager. We plan to sew many kind of clothes and modern but our fund for this project is limited. We happy if you can bring some clothes for our sewing.
+ Orphanage garden ( We hope to develop a Eco Farm Plan):
We working towards a degree of self-sustain ability by the development of vegetable gardens and the excavation of pond for the breeding of fish, pigs and chicken-feeding. In the process we try to role model ecologically sound principles by using natural fertilizers. encouraging composting wherever possible, using as our guiding principle.
+ Funding for the Orphanage:
This projects receives no government or NGO assistance but relies entirely on donation from visiting tourists to Siem Reap Angkor and interested people from oversea.
We hope is that one day will be sustainable and capable of funding its own expense, by creating a system of Sponsorships\ we hope to achieve this goal. Please help us to help ourselves and to be an example of new management in Cambodia.
